Some research suggests that having too little cholesterol may be a risk factor for some health problems, including- memory problems- an increased risk of bleeding- an increased risk of infection- hormone imbalances- a higher risk of death in people who have had a heart attack or stroke. If you are concerned that your cholesterol levels may be too low, speak to your GP. While it is possible to have too little cholesterol, it is much more common to have high cholesterol. High cholesterol is a risk factor for heart disease and stroke. If you have high cholesterol, your GP can prescribe medication to help lower it.
